Day 3 – Another amazing day. Very hot so the walk felt very long but we smashed it! The starting point for today was an hour from the campsite, which meant a 7.30am start and a 6.15pm finish. We’re all exhausted, and most of the team have blisters or sore knees today! The team spirit is amazing and we’re pulling together. We danced our way through the final 5km today, to boost morale!
Lunch was in a beautiful spot on the beach at ‘Moon Bay’ and we had to scramble down what felt like the surface of the moon in order to get there! Worth the challenging terrain!
A particular highlight of Day 3 was when the team of trekkers all stood (safely!) by the cliff edge to screen it off, so that Janine could pass by… she’s scared of heights, and has been incredible at facing her fear!
Also Gemma, who broke her wrist on Day 1 (did I forget to mention that?!) and needed 7 stitches in her knee in the same incident, has been able to continue on the trek with us, every walk, every km, every step!!!
These women ROCK!!!
We all really care and I just want to bottle the kindness and compassion I’m witnessing! I’ve never had so many people ask me, ‘Are you OK? How are you doing?’. I feel like I’m walking wrapped in a huge comfort blanket.
